We separated the management and support of the software/hardware from the teaching jobs, the technology integrationists. The following is the job description for the technology integrationists.
- Collaborate with grade level teams to plan and develop information and communications technology scope and sequences.
- Track hours of technology study consistent with requirements of the PYP/MYP program.
- Actively collaborate with teachers to develop lessons integrating information literacy skills and technology skills.
- Teach, and assist teachers in teaching, specific ICT skills outlined in the CA Information and Communications Technology Standards.
- Collaborate with grade level teams to develop trans-disciplinary unit maps that integrate the ICT standards.
- Provide ideas, guidance, and support for integration of information and communications technology beyond the classroom and school day.
- Cooperatively plan and implement technology programs and activities that support, and enhance, the school’s program.
- Provide technical assistance, advice, training, and promotion of techniques, hardware and software available to teachers at CA with ICT team support
- Maintain and develop tools to support curricular communication
- Assist with administrative and organizational systems that compliment the school’s overall ICT programs and long-range plans (with the support of the CA ICT Team).
- Collaborate with ES/MS/HS media center/librarian when planning and developing curriculum.
- Meet and communicate regularly with the CA ICT Team, which includes the MS/HS educational technology specialists, to ensure articulation of skills and knowledge in respective programs.
- Actively support Canadian Academy’s core values, mission, and strategic objectives.
